Iconic bag of the week
LV Luggage
All the fashionistas know what we are talking about when it comes to travel in style.
Who doesn’t want a piece of LV luggage to carry on in their travels?
The short story:
In the 1830s, a provincial young Frenchman named Louis Vuitton traveled — on foot — from his hometown to Paris, more than 400 km away.
One of the odd jobs he struck up in Paris was as an apprentice layetier, a kind of manservant who would pack trunks for well-to-do travelers.
Vuitton must have really known how to pack a trunk, because he soon caught the attention of Napoleon III, who hired him to be layetier to his wife, Empress Eugénie.
His tenure and skill in this field gave Vuitton considerable expertise in travelers’ needs. In 1854 he opened his own trunk-making firm in Paris. His first trunks were lightweight and airtight, with flat tops to facilitate stacking. They were wooden frames covered in gray “Trianon” canvas.
Louis Vuitton trunks were soon very popular and, like today, oft-copied. The company had to keep changing its signature pattern due to copycats. The trademark brown and beige stripes debuted in 1876; twenty years later, the “Monogram” pattern was unveiled, with that familiar “LV” monogram plus four-lobed flowers ‘borrowed’ from the Japanese visual culture that was so fashionable in the late-19th century.
By 1913, the Louis Vuitton store on the Champs-Elysées in Paris was the largest travel-goods store in the world.
You all all know what happened next 🙂
Merci monsieur LV!

Iconic bag of the week
Hello girls, I am sure you know this bag and for sure, just like me you will looove to add it to your Iconic bags collection.
The Celine luggage tote
The bag was launched din 2010 and since then it became the IT bag of the following years together with the other iconic bag of the house, the Paddington bag.
The designer, Phoebe Philo, has the knack of reviving dying labels and making it cool and hip and for sure she did a great job with Celine bags.
The Luggage Totes come in an ever-expanding variety of color and finish combinations, but the default Luggage Tote for most celebs seems to be a solid black bag, or a solid navy blue or beige bag.
Featuring one zipper closure as a decoration in the front, this quintessential and classic bag was shaped as a shopping tote for day to night use, large bag capacity and sturdy leather further increases its versatility.
This stylish Luggage Tote comes in five sizes and a range of combinations and colors: suede and calf, crocodile and calf, or just good old calf skin.
It’s no surprise that the luggage has been so famous. Celebrities are carrying it everywhere.

Blue loves green
Yesterday my style teacher talked about colors and colors combinations.
I instantly had in mind a Picasso paint that I recently view at the Museum of Modern Art in Vienna- Seated woman with green scarf-
It was by far the only work of art that took all my attention, because of the color combination that I loved at first sight and, of course, because Picasso is one of my favorite painters in the whole world.
Girls, I truly believe that there is no better combination of colors like green and blue, there are so many shades that can be suitable for all of us, we can always add a different color as a highlight like fuchsia, orange, aubergine, yellow or red, great massive accessories, colored shoes or bags…everything is possible of course if you can create a good balance between colors.
Check the gallery below for inspiration and once again, check your closet, I am sure you still have some hidden treasures out there.
Good luck girls!
How sporty will you go?
Sports luxe may be one of the biggest fashion trends of 2014.
Launched last year, this style brings in our wardrobe confy elements that we usually wear at the gym.
Sweatshirts and sweatpants, long, short, cropped, cotton or technical materials, neon sneakers, caps, sporty jackets and t-shirts combined with our everyday outfits, even pointy shoes, elegant dresses and bags can create a head turn look.
It all depends of your ability to combine them, be crazy and try unusual combinations, be creative and put together elements that you never thought to combine before.
Get your inspiration from the gallery below and be prepared for the fashion trend of the year!
Good luck girls!
Iconic bag of the week
I love bags. And shoes. But I think I love bags more 🙂
Every Monday I will bring you the bag of the week together with a small history and the reasons why we love those bags.
This week’s Iconic bag is the one I desire most lately. Maybe because I was searching for a black one and not just a black bag, the Givenchy Antigona kept my attention every time I was googling for bags.
Givenchy Antigona was lunched it 2010. It is another great piece created by
Ricardo Tisci. Antigona is a boston bag, classic and feminine but with
strong masculine details.
The bag is inspired by “Antigone” a feminine figure with a strong character. It represents Ricardo Tisci’s love of the masculine/feminine contrast.
Why do we love this bag? Well except the fact that all the fashionistas are wearing it, this bag is timeless and recognizable, with its leather strap and handles, the carryall can be worn in different ways. The bag is accessorized with golden hardware throughout including the top zip fastening. The golden Givenchy logo adorns the front of the bag. Inside, the bag has a fabric lining and there is a zip fastening pocket.
It comes in 3 sizes and a lot of colors and leather combinations. However, I do prefer the solid leather ones just because it can be easily adjusted to every look.
Price range: EUR 1500- and way up
